This is entry #11 in the 2016x12 EP series.

What a month this has been. Grotesque themes that have long been lurking beneath the surface have been thrust into spotlight to cheers and applause. The normalization and rationalization of long-discredited ways of thinking threaten to undo years of social progress as well as the small token amount of environmental progress we've made. North Dakota is a military state terrorizing Native peoples. Hate crimes are on the rise. The far-right is rising in Europe. Many of the themes I've been alluding to in this project over the course of this year have completely come to a head. Times are scary and no one know what to do. What's happening is not normal and it's not okay. It's hard to be an optimist.
